Congrats to Pointe Pest Control Scholarship Winners!
At Pointe Pest Control, our focus is on our customers and providing you with outstanding pest control service. With our professional service, we also take an active role in supporting the community and education. To demonstrate this, we offer scholarships to graduating high school seniors to further them in their college careers. We received so many incredible applications to our scholarship program that we couldn’t pick just one candidate. After careful consideration, Pointe Pest Control has awarded the following fantastic four high school seniors an excellence scholarship.

Connor Morency, a recent high school graduate from Wheaton North High School
He is accepted to study at Vanderbilt University in Nashville, Tennessee and plans on studying mechanical engineering. This bright young man was a model student at Wheaton North and graduated with a 4.4 grade point average. Playing on the WNHS Varsity Golf team, serving a leadership role as a member of the school’s falcon ambassadors program and devoting hours of service to community events, Connor demonstrated great diligence in his schooling. Connor also helped out his follow students as a math tutor and says that he wants to become a great engineer someday, hoping to discover and invent designs that will help our future. He plans on giving back to the community that has given so much to him. This summer, Connor will work at the Wheaton Sport Center and as an umpire for youth baseball and softball games. The rest of his free time will be spent with his family and friends. Connor Morency shows the character and excellence that the Pointe Scholarship represents. Pointe is honored to help Connor attend his dream school. We wish you the best of luck and expect great things from you. Dominique Green, a graduating high school senior from Seton Academy in Chicago
Dominique has been accepted to study at Marquette University in Milwaukee, Wisconsin and plans on studying psychology. Dominique showcased her commitment to excellence at school by maintaining a 4.0 GPA while taking challenging AP and honors courses. Outside of class, she consistently found ways to stay involved with her school. She served as Student Council Treasurer and Environmental Club Secretary and was also involved in National Honor Society, United States Achievement Academy, Photography Club, and the Spanish Club. Dominique even made time to be manager of the women’s softball team. She has been working over the past two summers and has experience as an office assistant at a dental clinic and was an administrative assistant for the Full Gospel Christian Church Summer Camp. Dominique says that she ultimately wants to become a psychiatrist. She believes that this career path will give her opportunities to be a role model to others and help them make good decisions. This summer, Dominique plans to complete an 8 week internship at Charles E. Pinkston and Associates law offices and learn about the legal field and gain more work experience. In her spare time, she’ll be helping her grandma with some projects around the house. Dominique has put in the hard work required to realize great things. Pointe is honored to support her in her future academic goals. We know she has greater achievements ahead of her. Cassie Del Valle, a recent high school graduate from Lane Tech College Prep High School
Cassie has been accepted to study at the University of Illinois at Chicago and plans on pursuing a degree in Computer Science. Cassie is a real go-getter, learning coding languages when she was younger and has been coding websites ever since. She has done website work for several businesses and is learning how to code using languages such as Python, HTML, CSS, and JQuery. Cassie was greatly involved Lane Tech band and orchestra as the percussion chairperson for her senior year. She played various percussion instruments at school including the snare drum and the xylophone, playing in the pit band for her school musical. Aside from school activities, Cassie spent time as a volunteer at the Budlong Woods Public Library and worked as a teacher’s assistant. She plans on spending the summer creating a website for a start-up company and learning another coding language—either Java or Ruby. Her dream job is to become a web developer for a major company. This intelligent young woman has shown the kind of character and excellence that the Pointe Scholarship represents. Pointe is honored to assist Cassie in her college pursuits and wishes her the best of Luck! Kamron Mikuta, a graduating senior from Carl Sandburg High School in Orland Park, Illinois
Kamron has been accepted to study at Southern Illinois University in Carbondale and plans on studying mechanical engineering this fall. He is a diligent individual who takes pride in doing the little things right. Having maintained perfect attendance throughout his 12 year public school career, he is also extremely passionate about engineering. He designed a pinewood derby car when he was younger and has been fascinated with automotive design ever since. In fact, Kamron works on cars as a summer job, yet with his growing car knowledge, Kamron remains humble and teachable. He understands that you tend to be like the people you associate with. That’s why he sought out and surrounded himself with friends that share his passions and interests so he can immerse himself in automotive knowledge. Taking full advantage of opportunities to learn something new, Kamron also takes the time to go to car shows and meetings to talk to other enthusiasts. As for his summer plans, Kameron will be working on cars and In his spare time, he’ll attend car shows and get in a round or two of golf as well. His schooling and work experience are leading him closer to a promising career in the automotive industry. He doesn’t see himself doing anything else.
